"The Red Baron" The "Red Baron" is a "Sanke". "Sanke" literally means "three-colors". A "Sanke" is a white koi with red and black markings. "Baron" got his name from his red coloration. But this year we found out that the Baron is actually a Baroness, when he/she was being chased around the pond by some of the other (male) fish. This is how the koi behave when breeding.
